In today's date, Bollywood stands for not just a mere film industry, but a massive and mind-boggling entity and has surely made its presence felt all across the world. Bollywood stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, A.R Rehman, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan etc. have now become known faces globally. Be it the screening of Bollywood movies in a global film festival like Cannes or the wax statues of Bollywood actors at Madame Tussauds, there are plenty of things signifying the emergence of Bollywood as a very integral part of Global Cinema. Slowly but surely, Bollywood has made a prominent mark through out the world. Bollywood movies are no more synonymous to a guy and a girl singing and dancing around a tree. In the last few years, Bollywood has evolved and Indian Cinema has grown wallopingly.
Cinema in India today does not mean only romantic dramas or comedy films but a lot more than that. Bollywood has dished out a plethora of variations in terms of its movies and thus, the standard of Bollywood movies has risen immensely over the last decade. There are ace directors like Mani Ratnam, Rakesh Roshan, Ashutosh Gowarikar and Vishal Bhardwaj coming up with their different kinds of films and also, there is a whole new brigade of young directors like Imtiaz Ali, Dibakar Banerjee, Neeraj Pandey, Tarun Mansukhani, Zoya Akhtar etc. who are leaving no stones behind to take Bollywood to an altogether different level along with directors like Karan Johar and Farah Khan who will never let the typical Bollywood Masala Movies go out of fashion! Bollywood movies like Taare Zameen Par, Jodha Akbar, Tahaan, 3 Idiots, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Jab We Met, A Wednesday, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Dev.D, Raajneeti etc. etc. are enough to speak remarkably about the enormous elevation of the standard at which Indian Cinema stands today globally. Not just in terms of genres of Cinema but also in terms of exotic locations all across the globe, Bollywood has explored it all. Somtime back Denise Richards and Silvester Stallon were seen doing cameos in Kambaqt Ishq and recently even Sarah Thompson was seen in Prakash Jha's Raajneeti. Moreover, our very own A.R Rehman's impeccable music has now become almost like rage through out the world and Aishwarya Rai is shooting for a brand commercial with Kate Winselet and is bonding very well with her. Aren't these pieces of information enough to understand that where Bollywood is standing today is actually a way higher than we think it is!
Remember those days when the British were ruling in India and the Indians were treated like slaves? Well, if you notice thoroughly then you will find those Gori chics and Gora hunks dancing as background dancers behind our Bollywood stars in almost all Bollywood dance numbers of today! Now, isn't that hillarious? So, its loud and clear that Bollywood in every which way has made its mark in the global scenario. Be it the Bollywood movies, or Btown celebs or the hindi music, everything is world famous now! And who knows? If Bollywood continues growing at this rate, then may be someday soon Hollywood will start looking upto Bollywood!
